Strawberry Chocolate Cake

Hello world!
Okay, so, I had some fabulous plans on the most super-advanced recipe in the honor of the Tasty Jewels post - unfortunately I'll have to keep on experimenting before I feel ready to release the recipe (I mean, its gotta be perfect, duh). But, I don't know how long such an experiment will require since apparantely nobody and nothing is perfect and in order to provide a contradiction to this statement worthy of its name...I guess you just shouldn't stress those kind of things. Am I rigth or am I right? Of course, I could put my blog on standby until them, but that would be so boring not to update the blog. Lucky for you, I am a genious who decided to post this breathtaking strawberry chocolate cake in the meanwhile!

Recipe borrowed from here!

The cake:

500g or around 30 fresh dates

250g almonds

100g hacked dark chocolate

6 eggs

1 orange, both juice and zest

1 tsp vanilla powder

3 tbsp cocoa powder

4 tbsp vegetable oil or coconut oil

The frosting:

150g dark chocolate

½ avocado

1 tbsp honey or agave syrup

A pinch of salt

Topping:

Loads of fresh berries, preferably strawberries!

Preheat the oven to 175°C. Mix the almonds in a food processor or mixer until they reach flour like consistency, and then add the dates. Mix until they form a dough and then place the mixture in a large bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and blend with a large spoon. Pour the mixture into a springform pan and leave in the oven for 40 minutes.

For the frosting, melt the chocolate on the stove, and then combine it with the rest of the ingredients in a mixer. Blend until you reach a smooth, creamy consistency. Let the cake cool and then spread the frosting on top. Add strawberries and voíla!
